Schools by province
Every province has its own page with its districts, top-performing schools and every school’s contact details and matric results.
Where learners are winning
Rankings use pass rates with a minimum number of candidates, so a school with three learners cannot top a list on luck.
How each province performed
Weighted by the number of candidates who wrote, not a simple average of school percentages. Tap a province to filter the directory.
Compare up to three schools

How to read these numbers
NSC pass rate
The share of full-time candidates who wrote the National Senior Certificate and passed. A high rate with few candidates is less telling than a solid rate across a big class.
Subject results
For Mathematics, Physical Sciences and Accounting we show how many wrote, how many achieved 30% or more, and the resulting pass rate.
Quintile and fees
Quintiles 1–3 are usually no-fee schools that receive more state funding per learner. Quintile is a funding category, not a quality score.
Directory records come from the school master list and NSC school performance reports published by the Department of Basic Education. Always confirm admissions and fees with the school directly. Spotted an error? Tell us.
